Woodland, Cass fall to close season
The Cass Colonels fell to the Carrollton Trojans Friday night 31-13 to conclude their 2017 campaign.
Carrollton took a 31-0 in the first half and outgained the Colonels 240-58 in that span.
The Colonels did put points on the board in the second half.
Rett Moore connected with Evan Hinton on an 18-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter and Tripp Breeden added a 1-yard rushing score in the fourth quarter.
Carrollton (8-2, 6-2) moves into the Class AAAAA state playoffs next week.
Cass finished the season 0-10 overall and 0-8 in Region 7-AAAAA.
ROME 62, WOODLAND 0
The Class AAAAA top-ranked Rome Wolves blanked visiting Woodland Friday night 62-0 at Barron Stadium in Rome.
The defending state champion Wolves led 55-0 at halftime and limited Woodland to only 24 yards.
Rome (10-0, 8-0) moves into the state playoffs next week.
Woodland’s season ends with a 3-7 mark. The Wildcats were 2-6 in Region 7-AAAAA.
