Tigers just miss qualifying for state at Region 6-AAA cross country championship meet
The Adairsville boys cross country team was edged by Murray County Thursday for a state meet berth from Region 6-AAA at the league's championship race in Gordon County.
The Tigers, who were looking for back-to-back trips to the state meet, placed fifth behind region winner Calhoun, Coahulla Creek, Sonoraville, and Murray County.
The top four teams from each region advance to the state meet November 3-4 in Carrollton.
The Adairsville girls placed seventh.
