Cartersville XC teams 4th at annual CCI
The Cartersville girls and boys cross country teams finished fourth at the Cass-Cartersville XC Invitational Tuesday with 20 teams represented.
Pope won the boys race with 37 points, followed by Southeast Whitfield (68), Centennial (108), and Cartersville (108). Centennial won the tie-breaker for third with a better sixth place runner.
Adairsville was seventh with 199 points and the Woodland boys were ninth.
John Higinbotham (Veritas Classical) won the individual title. There were 87 runners in the boys’ varsity competition.
Pope won the girls’ team title with 60 points. The Lady Greyhounds were followed by Centennial (63), Harrison (132), and Cartersville (134). Woodland placed seventh without their regular varsity lineup and Adairsville finished eleventh.
Grace Clements of Bremen High School won the girls’ individual title. The race included 89 competitors.
