Lady Canes host Troup Saturday in region playoffs DH

Cartersville softball will host Troup County Saturday afternoon in a Region 5-AAAA playoffs doubleheader to open a best-of-three series between the region foes.

Cartersville, the No. 4 seed, will entertain the 5th-seeded Lady Tigers in a 1 p.m. start for the two games. If a third game in the series is needed, it will be played Monday evening.

The series winner locks up a state playoffs berth and advances to play the LaGrange/Cedartown series winner for the state playoff third seed next Tuesday.

Meanwhile, top-seeded Chapel Hill and 2nd-seeded Central-Carroll will face off for the region championship starting Monday for the region's top seed in the state playoffs. The loser of that series will be the No. 2 seed in the Class AAAA state tournament.
