Woodland softball blanked at Lassiter

Woodland softball was limited to only one hit Wednesday night in a non-region 8-0 five-inning shutout loss at Class 7A, sixth-ranked Lassiter.

Jordan Duck had the only base hit for the Lady Cats.

Lassiter improved to 16-5 on the season with their win.

Woodland (7-11, 4-6 Region 7-AAAAA) has crucial region road games Thursday at Paulding County and Friday at Villa Rica. Both games are scheduled for 5:55 p.m. starts.

The Lady Cats currently sit in fifth place in the region standings one-half game behind East Paulding. Only the top four teams advance to the state playoffs and Woodland's schedule includes a game remaining with East Paulding next Tuesday.
