Woodland topped by visiting Northwest Whitfield
Northwest Whitfield pitcher Anna Grace Rann limited Woodland to four hits and struck out five as the visiting Lady Bruins shutout the Lady Cats 4-0 Monday night.
The Bruins took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning and added a single run in the fourth and two more runs in the seventh inning.
Molly Middleton, Brittany Ogle, and Rann combined for six of Northwest Whitfield’s seven hits. Sydney Horne drove in two runs with a double.
Jordan Duck (4 IP, 2ER, 6H, 4BB), Hope Schultz (2 IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 1K), and Madi Bentley (1 IP, 2R, 1ER, 2H, 1BB) shared the pitching duties for Woodland.
Bella Carnes, Ansley Evans, Caroline Higdon, and Skylar Chappell had the Woodland hits.
Northwest Whitfield improved their season mark to 20-1 with the win.
