Isaac's walk-off homer lifts Adairsville; Cass blanked on road


Havyn Isaac’s three-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning lifted Adairsville softball to an 8-5 walk-off win over visiting Ringgold Wednesday night in a Region 6-AAA battle.


Isaac was 6-for-6 in the contest with singles in the first, second, sixth, and eighth innings. She also doubled in the fourth inning to go with her tenth inning homer. Isaac finished with six RBIs and scored twice.


Loren Harris (10 IP, 5R, 0ER, 12H, 1BB, 3K) went the distance to pick up the pitching victory.


Victoria O’Neal had three hits for the Lady Tigers. Harris (RBI) and Sierra Tanner added a pair of hits each. Emily Collum and Cortni Jacobs chipped in with one hit each.


Adairsville (10-4, 3-4) hosts Bremen Thursday at 5:30 p.m.





KELL 3, CASS 0



The Lady Colonels were blanked at Kell Wednesday night in a Region 7-AAAAA matchup, 3-0.


Mia DeAngelis tossed a complete-game shutout for the Lady Longhorns and fanned 17 Cass batters. She walked three and allowed only three hits.


A walk, a single, and four stolen bases led to Kell’s second inning run that gave the Longhorns a 1-0 lead.


Niya McDuffie hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning that put Kell up 3-0.


Haley Owens (3.1 IP, 3ER, 7H, 1BB, 1K) was tagged with the pitching loss for Cass. Taylor Gibson (2.2 IP, 0R, 0H, 0BB, 1K) did not allow a baserunner in relief.


Sarah Moore had two of the Lady Colonels’ three hits. Kaila Carson had one hit.


Cass (2-12, 0-6) plays at Woodland Thursday at 6:30 p.m.




CARROLLTON 10, WOODLAND 2



Host Carrollton scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning Wednesday night on their way to a 10-2 defeat of Woodland in five innings.


The Lady Trojans sent 10 batters to the plate in the first inning and took their early lead on three singles, a double, two walks, and a pair of Lady Cats’ errors.


Scout Jennings doubled and homered for Carrollton. Savannah Cook also had two hits including a home run.


Olivia Fannin struck out eight and scattered four hits and five walks to pick up the pitching win.


Sarah Baynard (3 IP, 8R, 1ER, 7H, 2BB) suffered the loss for Woodland. Madi Bentley (1.2 IP, 2ER, 2H) took the circle in relief for the Lady Cats.


Skylar Chappell (double), Kendyl Hardin (RBI), Ansley Evans, and Morgan Bailey had hits for Woodland.


Carrollton improved to 12-1 overall and 5-1 in Region 7-AAAAA.


Woodland (5-7, 2-4) hosts Cass Thursday.
