Seigler named to USA Baseball U-18 national team

Cartersville High School baseball standout Anthony Seigler, listed on the roster as both a catcher and a right- and left-handed pitcher, made the 2017 USA Baseball 18U National Team Roster released Thursday.

The twenty-man national team will compete in the 2017 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Baseball World Cup in Thunder Bay, Canada September 1-10.

Seigler, 18, spent this past summer playing for the Evoshield Canes and has made a verbal commitment to Auburn University. The 5-11, 200-pounder is completely ambidextrous in all his baseball skills. Perfect Game USA has his top catcher pop-times in the 1.87 range with his right arm fastball as a pitcher in the low 90s. He has topped out around 88 with his left-handed fast ball.

Seigler was also a selection for the prestigious 2017 Perfect Game All-American Classic in San Diego earlier this month.
