Bartow County Junior Little League playoff run ends
A nice playoff run by the Bartow County Junior Little League all-star team came to an end Wednesday night in the team’s fourth game at the Georgia Junior Little League State Tournament at Clarke-Central High School in Athens as Bartow lost to Elbert County, 15-1.
Bartow, who qualified for the state tournament as the District 1 champion, had state tournament wins over Elbert County (4-3) and Athens (7-5), but also had a 7-5 loss to Hart County in the double-elimination tournament.
Bartow won the District 1 title by sweeping a best-of-three series over Cartersville, 5-4 and 7-5.
