CCC pro Hassell ties for 33rd at Yamaha Atlanta Open
Bill Hassell, head golf professional at Cartersville Country Club, shot a 3-under-par 69 Wednesday to finish tied for 33rd at the Yamaha Atlanta Open held at Echelon Golf Club in Alpharetta.
Hassell finished with a 6-over-par 150 total for the 36-hole event that started Tuesday.
Kennesaw State University junior Wyatt Larkin won the tournament with a 5-under-par total 139 after rounds of 69 and 71. Kyle Owen, a golf professional at Dunwoody Country Club, made a final round charge with a 68 on Wednesday but finished two shots behind Larkin.
Amateurs Mike Heffner and Jake Kangas of Cartersville also competed in the Georgia PGA Section event. Heffner tied for 86th with rounds of 78-81 and Kangas finished 124th with rounds of 85-86. William Rawls, an amateur competing out of Barnsley Resort, shot a 74 Wednesday to finish in a tie for 99th at 161.
