Roberson, Disbrow take over hoops programs at Adairsville

Adairsville High School will have two new basketball head coaches for the 2017-2018 school year.

A long time coach of multiple sports at both Adairsville High School and Adairsville Middle School — Michael Roberson — takes over as the new head girls coach for the Lady Tigers.

Roberson was most recently the middle school basketball coach and high school girls tennis coach at Adairsville.

He takes over for the departing Lee Whitaker and will have posts Josie Summerville and Nakiyah Washington returning along with point guard Emily Collum.

The Adairsville boys program will be guided by Alex Disbrow.

Most recently at Gordon Lee High School in Chickamauga for the past three seasons, Disbrow has also held head coaching positions in Tennessee at Kenwood High School and Hixson High School.

The U.S. History teacher is married with three young children. He played at Dade County High = School and was also an assistant at Dade early in his career.

Disbrow replaces Reggie Wilkes as the head coach at Adairsville and will have returning seniors Hunter Hice, Cody Henderson, and Ethan Belcher.
