Boatfield takes boys hoops job at Excel Christian Academy
In a press release today by the school, Shannon Boatfield has been named the new boys high school basketball coach at Excel Christian Academy. Boatfield responded regarding his new position, “I'm so excited about the privilege to join the mission of Excel Christian Academy. There's such an abundance of opportunity in front of us with the platform basketball provides to invest in the lives of our student-athletes and their families.”
A native of Marietta, GA, Shannon has served as the Area Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) since 2011. He and his wife, Monique, have two young sons, and they reside here in Cartersville, GA.
“Shannon exemplifies all that we look for in a Christ-centered man, educator, and coach. His passion for basketball and leading young people is beyond reproach, as evidenced by his years serving our youth here in north Georgia with the FCA. We are truly blessed to have Shannon with us, helping to shape the lives of the young men on our high school basketball team.” stated school President, Danny Deems.
Summer workouts are expected to begin soon, and players will get a chance to meet Shannon, hear how he plans to help lead the program, and help with rebuilding the program heading into the new school year.
