Crackers win Cartersville LL playoffs; Bartow County LL playoffs continue through Friday
Cartersville Little League wrapped up its league playoffs earlier this week and Bartow County Little League is in the final rounds of their playoffs as we conclude the 2017 season and get ready for tournament team selections, district, and state playoffs.
The Crackers won the Cartersville Little League (major) playoffs with a 6-1 victory over the Indians in the championship game. The Indians had edged the Braves, 10-9, in the semifinals to reach the finals.
In the Bartow County Little League, five teams remain alive in the single-elimination playoff tournament going into Thursday night.
In the opening round, the Cubs edged the Cardinals 10-9 and the Mets defeated the Twins 9-2.
In the quarterfinals, the top-seeded Orioles doubled-up the Cubs 10-5; the Tigers defeated the Giants 8-5; and the Braves slipped by the Mets 4-3.
Thursday night, the Rangers play the Athletics in the final quarterfinal round game at 6 pm with the winner to face the Braves at 7:30 pm. The second semifinal matchup is at 6 pm Thursday between the Tigers and Orioles.
The two semifinal winners will play for the BCLL playoff championship Friday night.
