Lady Tigers place 14th at AAA girls state golf championship
The Adairsville girls’ golf team started Tuesday’s final round of the Georgia High School Association Class AAA State Tournament in fourteenth place and that is where the Lady Tigers finished the 2017 championship.
The AAA girls’ tournament was hosted Monday and Tuesday by Okefenokee Country Club in Blackshear, GA.
The Lady Tigers shot 331-365 in the 36-hole championship.

Calhoun won the Class AAA team title with a 509 total. The Jackets finished 13 shots ahead of runner-up Union County, 26 shots ahead of third place North Murray, and 29 strokes ahead of fourth place Bremen.
The remainder of the top ten in the classification included Pierce County, Franklin County, Westminster, Southeast Bulloch, Savannah Arts Academy, and Hart County.
Dawson County, Pace Academy, and Lumpkin County placed eleventh through thirteenth. Peach County and Pike County were fifteenth and sixteenth, respectively.
Rutland’s Carrol Pyon shot 74-72 for a 2-over-par 146 total to win the individual girls title in Class AAA. Tori Owens of Murray County and Kate Mashburn of Calhoun tied for the runner-up spot with a 154 total. Owens shot 74-80. Mashburn fired a pair of 77s.
Keighley Hudziak shot 105-113 and finished 46th as an individual to lead the Adairsville players. Cortni Jacobs shot 121-109 to tie for 51st. Lindsey Angland shot 164-143 and Sabrina Fanello rounded out Adairsville's scoring with rounds of 105 and 203.
