Lady Tigers are Elite Eight bound
The Adairsville Lady Tigers’ soccer team will make a second straight state quarterfinals appearance this coming Friday following a 1-0 victory Tuesday at Long County.
Adairsville and the host Blue Tide battled scoreless until the Tigers' Gillian Johnson found the net off an assist from Katie Lawhorn in the game’s 78th minute.
The loss ends Long County’s season with a 9-8 mark. The Blue Tide was the runner-up in Region 2-AAA.
Adairsville (14-4) is a 4-seed from Region 6-AAA and will now play at either Lovett or Worth County in the Elite Eight on Friday.
