Georgia Highlands opens final regular season series with shutout win


Georgia Highlands’ pitcher Jake Lovvorn tossed a shutout and allowed only three hits in a 10-0 GCAA win over West Georgia Tech at LakePoint Sporting Community in Emerson.


John White drove in four runs in a 2-for-4 performance. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the fourth. Brandon Bell homered in the sixth inning and also had two doubles and a pair of RBIs.


After a scoreless first inning, the Chargers scored at least one run in every other frame.


Nick Fink had two hits and one RBI and Grant Bodison had two hits. Caleb McElwaney tripled and drove in a run. Devin Bilardello had one hit and one RBI and Bronco O’Brien added a single in the Chargers’ 12-hit attack.


Georgia Highlands (35-18, 12-9 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association) concludes the four-game series with West Georgia Tech Friday and Saturday in Carrollton. Friday’s single game is a 1:05 start. Saturday’s doubleheader also begins at 1:05pm.
