Adairsville track and field team advances eight to state sectionals


The Adairsville boys were fifth and the Lady Tigers ninth at the 2017 Region 6AAA Track and Field Championships in Calhoun that concluded Saturday.


Lady Tigers Josie Summerville, Katherin Calvert, and Nakiyah Washington advance to the Class AAA State Sectionals with top 4 finishes in their respective events.


Daylon Bailey, Chad Lowery, and the 4x100M relay team (Derrick Simmons, Ethan Belcher, Bryce Burgess, and Daylon Bailey) qualified for state sectionals next weekend at Pace Academy in Atlanta.


The top four placers in each event qualified for state sectionals. The top eight placers in each event scored points at the region meet.


Josie Summerville won the Region 6AAA shot put with a mark of 36'-9". Daylon Bailey also won the 100M with a time of 11.52.
