Tigers fall at Haralson County
Haralson County scored eleven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Tuesday night for a 12-2 home win over the visiting Adairsville Tigers in six innings.
The two teams were scoreless through three innings and both teams scored a single run in the fourth for a 1-1 tie.
Adairsville posted another run in the top of the sixth to take a 2-1 advantage, but the Rebels scored eleven times to end the game in the bottom of the inning by run-rule.
The Tigers committed four errors in the contest and the mistakes resulted in seven unearned runs.
In the fateful seventh, Haralson County produced eleven runs on a walk, six singles, two doubles, two Tigers’ errors, and a home run.
Adairsville starting pitcher Kyler Pelfrey (5 IP, 6R, 5ER, 5H, 1BB, 3K) suffered the loss. Chase Powell (0.2 IP, 6R, 0ER, 5H, 0BB) entered in the middle of the sixth inning and retired two Rebels’ batters.
Hayden Davis, Stephen Southern, Grayson Knight, and Landon Malone combined for seven hits and eight RBIs for the Rebels.
Malone also picked up the pitching victory by going the full six innings. He punched out five.
Taylor Whitley and Hunter Hice both had two hit games for Adairsville. Both also drove in a run. Kyler Pelfrey, Noah Dutton, Sam Seaman, and Justin Green also had hits for the Tigers.
The Rebels improved to 13-11 overall and 7-6 in region play.
Adairsville (9-16, 4-10 in Region 6AAA) entertains Sonoraville Thursday at 5:55pm.
