Gibbs' complete game, Tigers' 11-hit attack leads to win at Murray County
The Adairsville baseball team won at Murray County Monday night in a Region 6AAA matchup.
Caden Gibbs tossed a complete game for the Tigers scattering seven hits with seven strikeouts. He did not walk a batter.
Adairsville took a 6-0 lead with a single run in the first inning, two runs in the fourth, and three more runs in the fifth frame.
The Indians scored one run in the fifth and two more in the bottom of the seventh, but Gibbs was able to close out his complete game effort.
The Tigers pounded out eleven hits.
Sam Seaman led the offense with three hits and three RBIs that included a double and a home run. Taylor Whitley had two hits and one RBI. Hunter Hice (RBI), Noah Dutton, B.J. Roper, Gibbs (double), Corey Nation, and Cody Henderson had one hit each for the Tigers.
The Indians fell to 7-17 overall and 4-9 in Region 6AAA with the loss.
Adairsville (9-15, 4-9) plays at Haralson County Tuesday at 5:55pm and will host Sonoraville Thursday at 5:55pm.
