Chargers shutout Shorter, 10-0


Georgia Highlands pitchers Tyler Sellers and David Hulsey combined to shutout the Shorter University JV, 10-0 Monday at LakePoint. Both pitchers went three innings each and each fanned three Hawks.


The Chargers’ offense rapped out ten hits and scored in each inning except two. GHC posted seven runs in the first two innings combined and added two runs in the fourth with another in the sixth inning for their 10-run total.


Caleb McElwaney, Devin Bilardello (2 RBIs), Matt Vaccaro (RBI), and Nick Piccapietra (double, 3 RBIs) led the offensive charge with two hits each. Josh Kiser smashed a solo homer and Bronco O’Brien (2 RBIs) added one hit.


Georgia Highlands College (29-14) plays Shorter JV again Wednesday at LakePoint. The Chargers then return to Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association conference play next Tuesday (April 18) at Abraham Baldwin in Tifton. That conference series with ABAC continues Friday and Saturday (April 21-22) with three more games at LakePoint.
