Woodland girls edged, Wildcats fall to East Paulding
The Woodland soccer teams lost in Region 7AAAAA matches Thursday night to East Paulding.
EAST PAULDING GIRLS 2, WOODLAND 1
The Woodland girls led 1-0 at halftime, but East Paulding scored in the 46th minute to tie 1-1 and scored the game-winner off a corner with about 10 minutes remaining.
East Paulding improved to 4-7 overall and 2-3 in region play.
The Lady Cats (0-10, 0-7) host a non-region match with Heritage-Catoosa next Tuesday at 5pm.
EAST PAULDING BOYS 4, WOODLAND 1
The Raiders scored twice in the first 15 minutes to take a 2-0 halftime lead. Then added two more goals in the second half for a 4-0 advantage.
Woodland’s Cesar Pineda scored the Wildcats’ goal in the final minutes of the second half for a 4-1 final score.
Woodland (4-6-1, 2-5 Region 7AAAAA) will host Heritage-Catoosa in a non-region game next Tuesday at 7pm.
