Adairsville wins at Sonoraville
The Adairsville baseball team scored a pair of first inning runs on a two-out error in the first inning and added one more run on a two-out, solo home run by Garrett Mishoe in the fifth inning for a 3-1 Region 6AAA win Thursday evening at Sonoraville.
Adairsville pitchers Caden Gibbs (4 IP, 0R, 5H, 2BB, 2K) and Sam Seaman (3 IP, 1R, 0ER, 3H, 1BB, 4K) combined to shut down the Phoenix. The pair did not allow an earned run in seven combined innings.
Avery Hopper (6 IP, 3R, 1ER, 7H, 2BB, 4K) worked six innings from the mound for Sonoraville and allowed only one earned run, but was saddled with the loss.
Chase Kirby and Gavin Phillips had two hits each for the Phoenix.
Mishoe was 3-for-4 for the Tigers, including his home run. Cody Henderson, Taylor Whitley, Kyler Pelfrey, Corey Nation, and Seaman had the other Tigers’ hits.
Sonoraville stumbles to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in region play.
Adairsville (5-9, 2-3) will entertain Murray County in another Region 6AAA tilt Friday at 5:55pm.
