Chargers prep for conference schedule with sweep of Three Rivers

Georgia Highlands College completed a three-game series sweep of Three Rivers College (CT) by shutting out the Raiders twice Saturday at LakePoint in Emerson.

The Chargers won the first game Saturday 5-0 and the second game 10-0. GHC won the series opener Friday, 12-3.

Drew Wilson tossed a five hitter and allowed only one walk with six strikeouts in the 5-0 win. Matthew Norton allowed only three hits and struck out two in the Chargers’ mercy run-rule, five inning 10-0 win.

John White had three hits and three RBIs in the doubleheader. Grant Bodison had three hits and two RBIs. Devin Bilardello also had three hits.

Bronco O’Brien, Nick Piccapietra (RBI), Brandon Bell (2 RBIs), Evan Mask (RBI), and Israel Zackery (2 RBIs) each had a two-hit day.

Georgia Highlands (20-9) begins conference play this week with a four-game series against East Georgia State CC. The Chargers will host Tuesday at LakePoint before traveling to Swainsboro for a single game Friday and a doubleheader with the Bobcats Saturday.
