White’s four RBIs helps lead GHC past Indian Hills CC
The Georgia Highlands College baseball team extended its current win streak to nine games Friday afternoon at LakePoint by jumping out to an early lead on Indian Hills CC (Attumwa, Iowa).
The Chargers placed seven runs on the scoreboard in the first two innings to take a 7-1 lead and later added a run in the fifth and five more in the seventh for an eventual 13-2 victory.
GHC doubled the Falcons in hits, 12 to six.
John White had a four RBI day and was 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored to lead the Chargers’ offense. Brandon Bell followed with two hits and a walk for three RBIs. Matt Vaccaro (2 RBI), Devin Bilardello, and Bronco O’Brien each had two hits also.
Colby Taylor (7 IP, 2ER, 6H, 0BB, 2K) got the job done on the mound to earn a complete-game pitching victory.
The Chargers (15-8) have a doubleheader vs. USC-Lancaster Saturday beginning at 1pm and will play Triton College (River Grove, Illinois) Sunday at 12 noon. All three games are at LakePoint in Emerson.
