Winder-Barrow scored five runs in the first two innings Saturday afternoon to take an early 5-1 lead, then held off Cartersville down the stretch for a 6-5 consolation round win at the Perfect Game High School Showdown at LakePoint in Emerson.
Cartersville finished 2-2 in the nationally acclaimed event with wins over James Clemens (AL) and IMG Academy (FL). The other loss came to the eventual champs, Providence (FL) in the Round of 16 of the single-elimination championship bracket.
