Cartersville tennis teams blank Troup in region opener
The Cartersville girls and boys tennis teams swept matches Thursday with Troup County with both teams winning, 5-0.
“We focused a great deal on doubles strategies at practice this week,” said Cartersville coach Melissa Moore. “We used those strategies today very successfully.”
Moore was also pleased with improved serves from her players.
“Our serves were strong all around,” noted the Canes coach. “ I’m proud of the way we played. The entire match was over in less than an hour.”
The Lady Canes improved to 4-3 overall and are 1-0 in Region 5AAAA. The boys team is 3-4 overall and 1-0 in region play.
