Softball Chargers win 14th in a row
The Georgia Highlands College softball team continued its winning ways Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep at Enterprise College (AL).
The Chargers defeated the Boll Weevils 13-0 in five innings and 12-3 in six innings.
Georgia Highlands has now won 14 straight games and improved to 16-3 on the season.
Natalie Pederson was the winning pitcher in the circle for the first game Sunday. She tossed a complete game and allowed only two hits.
Freshman Evan Hall (photo) made her collegiate debut in the second game. Hall went five innings and Becca Meade closed out the sixth for the Chargers.
Shay Wooten and Brianna Fickes both hit two home runs, while Lacey Mount picked up her first collegiate hit. It was a two-RBI double.
Georgia Highlands begins Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association conference play Wednesday at home at Stars Field. The Chargers will face the Gordon State College Highlanders at 4pm and 6pm.
