Woodland boys soccer defeats Pickens, girls tie
The Woodland boys soccer team won its second straight game Tuesday night with a 4-2 home victory over Pickens.
Miguel Hernandez scored a pair of goals off assists from Levi Brandenburg and Trey Jennings to help lead the Wildcats to victory.
Raul Gonzales scored a goal and added an assist on a Cesar Pineda goal. Preston Godfrey assisted on the Gonzalez goal.
The Wildcats (2-1) play next at Chapel Hill on Friday, February 24.
The Woodland girls team played Pickens to a 2-2 draw Tuesday night.
Kaitlin Winnenberg scored a pair of goals for the Lady Cats -- one in the first half and the other just before the midway point of the second half to take a 2-0 lead. Pickens responded with two goals later in the second half to earn the tie.
The Lady Cats (0-1-1) play again this Friday, February 17 at Cherokee.
