Woodland basketball teams swept at Kell


The Woodland Lady Cats and Wildcats were swept in Region 7AAAAA basketball games Wednesday night in Cobb County.

 

KELL BOYS 98, WOODLAND 66


Demetris Page scored 17 points to lead the Kell Longhorns to a 98-66 home win over visiting Woodland Wednesday night.


Kell held leads of 25-9 after one period, 54-31 at halftime, and 79-53 after three quarters.


Justice Carter scored a game-high 27 points for Woodland. Justice Hayes followed with 12 points and Trevor Knowles added seven for the Wildcats.


The Longhorns improved their Region 7AAAAA leading record to 7-1. Kell is 13-4 overall.


The Wildcats (1-13, 0-9) play at home Friday against Villa Rica.





KELL GIRLS 43, WOODLAND 15


The Lady Cats struggled to score on the road Wednesday night at Kell, managing only three points in the first half.


Kell led 21-3 at halftime and extended that lead to 41-10 through three periods.


The Lady Longhorns improved to 9-8 overall and evened their Region 7AAAAA mark at 4-4.


Lexie Robinson scored five points for Woodland. Carli Clymer added four. Madgie Robinson scored three points, Morgan Bailey two, and Jamison Kilgo one.


Woodland (0-14, 0-9) hosts Villa Rica Friday night with tip scheduled for 6pm.
