Tigers win at Gordon Central
The Adairsville boys basketball team defeated Gordon Central Monday night in Calhoun, 55-46.
The Tigers ran out to a 20-8 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Adairsville held leads of 36-21 at halftime and 43-31 after three quarters.
Ethan Belcher led Adairsville with 12 points. Hunter Hice scored 10. James Sims and Juan Perez each added eight points. Cole Hewett finished with six. Ronald Hardin and Grayson Dailey rounded out the Tigers’ scoring with six and five points, respectively.
DaNarian Dixon led Gordon Central with 14 points. Gabe Ross added 11 and Dawson Lackey nine for the Warriors. Drake Bray contributed six points. Colyn Nix and Martavius Harris scored three points each.
Gordon Central fell to 1-7 on the season with the loss.
Adairsville (6-4) plays Tuesday night at Southeast Whitfield and will play in the Fannin County Mountain Top Tournament December 27-29.
COOSA GIRLS 57, WOODLAND 42
Lexie Robinson scored 22 points Monday in a consolation game at the Rome News-Tribune Holiday Festival, but the Lady Cats fell to Coosa at Georgia Highlands College.
Jamison Kilgo scored seven for Woodland and Carli Clymer added five.
Woodland (0-7) plays at Cartersville Thursday.
