Adairsville boys earn state cross country berth
The Adairsville boys cross country qualified Wednesday for the Class AAA state meet by placing fourth at the Region 6-AAA Championship in Dalton.
The Tigers finished with 115 points, behind region winner Coahulla Creek (34), Calhoun (58), and Murray County (111). Adairsville edged out fifth place Sonoraville by only six points to earn the final state meet berth.
Walt Douglas of Coahulla Creek won the boys individual race with a time of 16:32.
Adairsville was led by freshman Angel Burda who finished 19th overall in a time of 18:56. Teammates Tim Bosdell (19:01), Jameson Leker (19:09), Jason Burdette (19:28), and Spencer Rawlins (19:37) followed. Daniel Sullivan (20:13) and Jared Tatum (21:02) also ran for the Tigers.
The Class AAA boys state championship race will be Saturday morning, November 5 at Carrollton High School. Start time is 8am.
