Woodland softball routs East Paulding to even season and region mark


Woodland softball

The Woodland softball team exploded for 19 runs in just three turns at bat to rout East Paulding Thursday night 19-5 in four innings.


After putting up four runs in the bottom of the first inning, Woodland followed with five more in the second and ten in the third frame.


East Paulding struck for five runs in the top of the third inning.


Sarah Baynard (4 IP, 5ER, 6H, 2BB, 4K) picked up the pitching victory for the Lady Cats.


Woodland took advantage of 15 hits and eight errors by the Lady Raiders in the one-sided victory.


Jordan Duck led the Lady Cats’ offense with three hits that included a double, a triple, and seven RBIs. Madgie Robinson and Brittney Cox also had three hits for the Lady Cats.


Bella Carnes contributed a pair of hits. Caroline Higdon, Skylar Chappell, Audrey Morris, and Baynard had the other Woodland hits.


Woodland (7-7, 3-3) hosts Lassiter Tuesday, Carrollton Wednesday, and travels to Cass on Thursday next week.
