Six continue in FedExCup playoffs representing Cartersville's Scott Hamilton Golf Academy
The PGA Tour FedExCup Playoffs are in full swing and headed to the second of four playoff stops this weekend.
Cartersville Country Club’s Scott Hamilton Golf Academy has six players still alive in the playoff chase at the Deutsche Bank Championship being played at the TPC Boston this week.
Only the top 100 players are in the field this week. The top 70 will advance to the BMW Championship September 8-11 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana.
The TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta will be comprised of only the top-30 qualifiers after the BMW.
Scott Hamilton Golf Academy players and their current position in the FedExCup standings:
41st — Harris English . . . slipped six spots last week. . . has three top tens this season and is 2,505 points behind the current leader, Patrick Reed. 54th — Ben Martin . . . moved up from 61st last week . . . has two top tens this season and is 2,692 points back.
56th — Aaron Baddeley . . . slipped from 45th last week . . . has one win and five top tens . . . 2,701 points behind.
75th — Chris Kirk . . . fell 15 spots last week . . . has two top tens . . . trails by 2,826 points.
78th — Russell Henley . . . moved up from 83rd last week . . . has four top tens . . 2,849 points back.
82nd — Hudson Swafford . . . moved up from 90th last week . . . has one top ten . . . 2,864 points back.
Acworth’s Jason Bohn is 89th. The former SHGA player has three top tens this season and slipped 12 spots last week. He has 2,905 points.
Scott Hamilton Golf Academy players outside the top 100 include: Boo Weekley (114th), Scott Stallings (128th), Steven Bowditch (179th), and Brennan Todd (212th).
On the senior level PGA Champions Tour, SHGA player Joe Durant currently sits third in the Schwab Cup standings. He trails Bernhard Langer and Miguel Angel Jimenez. Savannah’s Gene Sauers is fourth.
The Champions Tour plays the Shaw Charity Classic in Calgary, Alberta, Canada September 2-4.
