Bartow 14U eliminates Union City at GRPA state tourney

The Bartow County Recreation Department’s 14U baseball team won 13-2 Wednesday afternoon in five innings over Union City at the GRPA 14U State Tournament in Augusta.

Sheldon Appling led the Bartow offense by going 3-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI. Malachi Bradley was 2-for-2 with a double and a pair of RBI. Aiden Blakeley finished 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Micah Tart (triple), Jacob McBroom (RBI), Jonah Gambill (RBI), Mack Morris, Ajami Harmon, Noah Grisham, and Logan Stokes (2 RBI)

Morris had three stolen bases. Gambill and Harmon each stole one base.

McBroom pitched three innings with a pair of strikeouts. Blakeley struck out two in one inning of work and Tart recorded a strikeout in one inning on the bump.

Bartow plays again Wednesday night at 8pm against Vidalia in an elimination game at Diamond Lakes Park in Augusta.
