Cartersville 10U baseball drops GRPA state tourney opener; Bartow 14U also falls
The Cartersville 10U baseball all-stars at the GRPA 10U state tournament in Tifton led for four innings Tuesday night, but Thomasville YMCA scored ten runs in the fifth inning for a come-from-behind 11-5 win.
Cartersville had multiple scoring opportunities in the contest, but left too many runners on base. Thomasville YMCA took advantage of some Cartersville defensive miscues with timely hits to drive in runs in their rally.

Trenton Payne reached base with a walk. Cartersville 10U will look to rebound Wednesday at 1pm against the Savannah Game On Bulldogs, a 12-4 loser Tuesday to Clayton County.
The double-elimination 10U GRPA state tournament at E.B. Hamilton Complex in Tifton will continue through Saturday.
