13U Snipers win tourney

The North Georgia Snipers 13U baseball team captured the Grand Slam Baseball ‘Grip It and Rip It’ Tournament April 24 at Hobgood Park in Woodstock.

The local travel team won three straight bracket games April 24 to win the title.

Strong pitching performances carried the Snipers through the championship bracket. Taylor Elrod and Josh Jacobs combined for a 6-0 shutout of Paulding Thunder. Nicolas Wallin blanked the West Cobb Tide, 8-0, and Blaine Ingram pitched a complete game in the Snipers’ 16-4 championship game victory over the Sandy Plains Wildcats.
