Canes' results through first day of Region 7-AAAA Track and Field Championships

The Cartersville High School girls and boys track and field teams competed Monday at the opening day of the Region 7-AAAA Track and Field Championships at Southeast Whitfield High School in Dalton. The Cartersville girls are second after three events scored on Monday behind Heritage-Catoosa. The Cartersville boys are in fifth place through four events.

The meet continues on Tuesday at Southeast.

Here are the Monday top results for the Hurricanes. Top 8 in preliminaries qualified for the finals on Tuesday. If the event was a Monday final, it is indicated below. The top four in each final qualifies for the Class AAAA state sectional meet.
