Woodland sweeps county track and field titles
The Woodland girls and boys track and field teams swept their way to victories at the 2016 Bartow County Track & Field Championships held Monday at Cass High School's Doug Cochran Stadium.
The Lady Cats won the rain-soaked event by 30 points over runner-up Cartersville. The Cass girls were third, followed by Adairsville.
The Wildcats captured the boys' title in dominant fashion by doubling the point total of runner-up Cass. Cartersville finished third and Adairsville was fourth.
Bre Cole of Cartersville won the 800M and 1600M runs to capture 'Girls Athlete of the Meet' honors. She was also second in the triple jump. Julian Rockett of Woodland was named 'Boys Athlete of the Meet.' He won the 800M and 1600M runs and placed third in the long jump. EVENT RESULTS
