Wimpy named AAC Player of Week, headlines this week's 'Athletes Beyond Bartow' softball
NAIA All-American catcher, Randi Wimpy, continues another impressive season with Reinhardt University. This past week, she earned Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors as the Lady Eagles swept home doubleheaders with Point University and St. Andrews (NC) University. She was 4-for-8 with a homerun, six RBI, seven runs scored, and was intentionally walked five times in the two doubleheaders.

SOFTBALL
TAYLOR BRASELTON — Reinhardt University (Jr., Woodland HS) . . . went 4-for-7, scored three runs and drove in one in an April 6 home doubleheader with Point University. She was 4-for-6 in a home doubleheader with St. Andrews (NC) April 9 with six runs scored and one RBI. Braselton has a .346 batting average, eight RBI, and five stolen bases in 30 games - all starts - for the Eagles. Reinhardt (33-10 overall, 14-2 Appalachian Athletic Conference) has won nine straight. They host conference doubleheaders with Milligan College (TN) April 15 and Montreat College (NC) April 16.
SYDNEY FLOWERS — Reinhardt University (Jr., Woodland HS) . . . had a hit and scored a run in an April 6 home game against Point University. Also had a hit and scored three times in an April 9 home game against St. Andrews (NC) University. She has a .219 batting average in 29 games for the Eagles. Reinhardt (33-10 overall, 14-2 Appalachian Athletic Conference) has won nine straight. They host conference doubleheaders with Milligan College (TN) April 15 and Montreat College (NC) April 16.
BRIDGETT HAMPTON -- Walters State CC (Fr., Woodland HS) . . . in the lineup as a DH, she went 3-for-11, scored twice, and drove in four in a four-game conference sweep at Southwest Tennessee CC. Hampton has a .303 batting average in 16 games with 10 RBI. The Lady Senators (29-4 overall, 19-1 Tennessee Community College Athletic Association) entertain Montreat College (NC) April 12 in a non-conference doubleheader. WSCC then has a four-game home series with conference foe, Chattanooga State CC, April 15-16.
SYDNEY HODORFF — LaGrange College (Fr., Woodland HS) . . . the Panthers’ catcher was 3-for-11 with a double and one RBI in a pair of road doubleheader losses at Covenant College and Piedmont College. She has a .303 batting average and two homers in 29 games. LaGrange (13-18 overall, 6-14 USA South Athletic Conference) has dropped seven straight and hosts Birmingham Southern College April 13 in a doubleheader.
HUNTER IRVIN — Reinhardt University (Fr., Cartersville HS) . . . had a hit, walked once, scored a run, and drove in a run in an April 9 win over St. Andrews (NC) University. Hunter has a .182 batting average with three RBI and has played in 12 games with three starts for the Eagles. Reinhardt (33-10 overall, 14-2 Appalachian Athletic Conference) has won nine straight. They host conference doubleheaders with Milligan College (TN) April 15 and Montreat College (NC) April 16.
MALLORY JACKSON — Georgia Highlands CC (Fr., Woodland HS) . . . went 2-for-6 including a solo homerun and scored twice in a doubleheader sweep at Gordon College April 6. Through 45 games, Jackson has a .217 batting average, three homers, and 20 RBI. Georgia Highlands (22-30 overall, 5-7 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association) hosts a doubleheader with Chattanooga State CC April 12 and Andrew College April 16.
ASHLEY JORDAN — Georgia Highlands CC (Soph, Woodland HS) . . . has a .294 batting average, 14 RBI, 19 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases in 48 games for the Chargers. She went hitless in a doubleheader sweep at Gordon College April 6. Georgia Highlands (22-30 overall, 5-7 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association) hosts a doubleheader with Chattanooga State CC April 12 and Andrew College April 16.
TAYLOR WEEKS — Reinhardt University (Jr., Adairsville HS) . . . went 4-for-6 with two walks, scored four runs, and drove in two runs as the Eagles swept a non-conference, home doubleheader with Point University April 6. She then went 3-for-5 with a walk, three runs scored, and four RBI April 9 as the Eagles completed a doubleheader sweep of St. Andrews (NC) University. In 39 games, Weeks has a .438 batting average with 31 RBI. Reinhardt (33-10 overall, 14-2 Appalachian Athletic Conference) has won nine straight. They host conference doubleheaders with Milligan College (TN) April 15 and Montreat College (NC)
RANDI WIMPY — Reinhardt University (Sr., Woodland HS) . . . the 2015 NAIA All-American catcher continues to impress and earned Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors last week as the Eagles swept home doubleheaders with Point University and St. Andrews (NC) University April 6 and 9. She was 4-for-8 with a homerun, six RBI, seven runs scored, and was intentionally walked five times in the two doubleheaders. Wimpy has a .452 batting average, eight homeruns, and 53 RBI in 41 starts. Reinhardt (33-10 overall, 14-2 Appalachian Athletic Conference) hosts conference doubleheaders with Milligan College (TN) April 15 and Montreat College (NC)
LAUREN WOMACK — Georgia Highlands CC (Fr., Cass HS) . . . went 2-for-4, with a pair of walks and three runs scored in a doubleheader sweep at Gordon College April 6. In 48 games played, Womack has a .304 batting average, with 11 RBI, 21 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases.
