Seaman fans 15 as Tigers down LFO
Adairsville pitcher Sam Seaman pitched another complete game gem for the Tigers as they defeated region-rival Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Tuesday at home, 4-1.
Seaman allowed only one, unearned run in the first inning. He scattered a pair of Warriors’ hits with five walks and struck out 15 batters.
After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, the Tigers tied the game in their half of the inning. Landon Howren singled and later scored after a Kyler Pelfrey sacrifice bunt, a hit batsman, and a fielders choice grounder by Hayden Morrow.
Adairsville put two more runs on the board in the third inning.
Taylor Whitley reached on an error before Pelfrey singled. Whitley then scored on an RBI single by Seaman and Pelfrey moved to third base. Morrow then drove them both home with a double to left-centerfield to make the score 4-1.
That would be more than enough run support for Seaman who shutout the Warriors over the final six innings.
Adairsville (10-7, 6-3 in Region 6-AAA) travels to North Murray Thursday (5:55pm) and visits Coahulla Creek on Friday (5:55pm).
