Canes dispatch Raiders, 7-4


Cartersville scored seven runs over the first three innings, then held on for a 7-4 home victory over Southeast Whitfield Wednesday night at Richard Bell Field.


The Canes’ starting pitcher, Harrison Osborn (3 IP, 3R, 0ER, 3H, 3K), picked up the pitching win. Spencer Dickey (2 IP, 0R, 1H, 1K) Carrington Evans (1 IP, 1R, 0ER, 1H, 1K) , and Mason Barnett (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 1K) worked the final four innings on the bump for Cartersville.


Trevor Lowe and Parker Tidwell had two hits each for the Canes. Tidwell drove in a pair of runs and Lowe added one RBI. The pair, along with Noah Daniel, also tripled. Evans had two RBI and a double. Elliott Anderson contributed a double at the plate.


Cartersville took a 5-0 lead after two innings before Southeast (6-11, 0-4) responded with three runs in the top of the third. The Canes added two more runs in the third inning to lead 7-3. The Raiders scored a single run in the top of the sixth for the 7-4 final score.


Cartersville (8-7, 4-1 Region 7-AAAA) plays at Heritage-Catoosa Friday. First pitch is set for 5:30pm.
