Canes cruise to shutout win; Cass, Woodland lose sub-region matches
The Cartersville boys soccer team cruised to a 9-0 shutout victory over Ridgeland Friday night. Pedro Robledo completed a hat trick, scoring three goals, and the Hurricanes’ offense dominated by taking 44 shots on goal.
Grant Farmer (10th minute), Cesar Abeja (14th minute), Aaron Ruiz (18th minute), and Robledo (22nd, 38th minute) gave Cartersville a 5-0 lead at halftime.
Osbaldo Senderos (58th minute), Robledo (70th minute), Carter Spivey (76th minute), and Victor Guevara (79th minute) scored the Canes’ second half goals.
Cartersville (8-2 overall, 4-1 7-AAAA) play at Northwest Whitfield next Friday, March 25.
CREEKVIEW 1, CASS 0
The Cass boys soccer team was in a scoreless battle with Creekview for almost the entire game, but the visiting Grizzlies scored with only seven seconds remaining to hand the Colonels a sub-region 7-AAAAA-A defeat.
Creekview improved to 5-3-2 overall and 3-2 in the sub-region.
Cass (5-3-1, 1-2) will play Dalton at home Monday (March 21), travels to Rome on Thursday (March 24), and entertains North Springs on Friday (March 25).
SEQUOYAH 4, WOODLAND 0
The visiting Chiefs defeated the Woodland boys soccer team Friday night, 4-0.
Sequoyah improved to 9-3 on the season and 3-2 in sub-region 7-AAAAA-A win their win.
Woodland (0-8, 0-4) has road matches next week at Dalton (Tuesday, March 22) and at Coosa (Friday, March 25).
