Tigers defeat Cass
The Adairsville baseball team scored eight runs in the third and fourth innings combined to take control of the game on their way to a 10-4 win over visiting county rival Cass on Saturday.
Noah O’Kelley (3IP, 1R, 0ER, 4H, 2BB, 5K) was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. Orry Carter (3 IP, 3R, 2ER, 3H, 3BB, 2K) and Garrett Mishoe (1 IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K) also pitched for Adairsville.
Landon Howren, Lane Griffith, and Hayden Morrow all had two hits for the Tigers. Hunter Hice drove in two runs with a hit. Mishoe, Cole Hewatt, and Justin Green each added a hit.
Jake Collum (2 IP, 6R, 3ER, 3H, 4BB, 1K) was saddled with the pitching loss for Cass. Owen Means (1.1 IP, 4R, 2ER, 2H, 1BB), Cody Johnson (1.2 IP, 0R, 1H, 3K), and Jordan Reed (1 IP, 0R, 2H, 3K) also took the mound for the Colonels.
Evan Hinton was 3-for-4 and scored a run for Cass. Brett Gaddy had two hits and scored a run. Cody Johnson had a hit and scored a run with one RBI. Jordan Reed and Collum (RBI) also added hits.
Cass (3-5) plays a three-game series against Rome next Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Adairsville (4-2) hosts Armuchee and North Murray, Monday and Tuesday (March 14-15).
