Woodland Lady Cats defeat Kell
The Woodland Lady Cats soccer team defeated Kell Friday night, 2-0.
Woodland opened the scoring in the 33rd minute on a corner kick by Kaitlin Winnenberg redirected by Lindsay Scifers and off a Lady Longhorn defender for an own goal.
Winnenberg sealed it in the 49th minute when she scored on a shot from the right side into the left corner. The game remained scoreless from that point.
Keeper Sam Simmons kept the visiting Longhorns off the scoreboard for the victory in net.
Woodland improved to 3-4-1 and will host River Ridge Tuesday (Mar 15) and Sequoyah on Friday, March 18.
The Woodland boys team lost 2-0 to visiting Kell. Both Longhorns' goals came in the second half. The Wildcats are now 0-6. Kell is 2-4-1.
