Canes defeat McEachern
The Cartersville baseball team improved to 2-1 in the Perfect Game High School Showdown at LakePoint in Emerson Friday night with a 7-2 victory over Class 6-A McEachern. Cole Jamieson was 2-for-2 at the plate with one RBI for the Purple Hurricanes with singles in the first and sixth innings. Parker Tidwell drove home a pair of runs with one hit. Spencer Dickey drove home a pair of runs in the third inning on a double and Parker Roberson had a hit and one RBI.
Zach Yancey (double), Carrington Evans, and Trevor Lowe each added a Hurricanes’ hit.
Jacob Fowler (5 IP, 0R, 4H, 1BB, 4K) picked up the pitching win for the Canes. Dickey (2 IP, 2ER, 3H, 0BB, 1K) also pitched.
Troy Jones led the Indians with three hits, including a double and one RBI.
Cartersville (3-4) plays IMG Academy in a Saturday morning consolation at LakePoint. First pitch is scheduled for 9am.
