GHC softball sweeps Roane State

Georgia Highlands softball completed a doubleheader sweep of Roane State Sunday at Hamilton Crossing Park to wrap up play in the Border Battles tournament hosted by the Chargers. Bree Fickes hit her third homerun of the young season, while pitchers Natalie Pederson and Kayla Street each picked up their first wins in the circle as Georgia Highlands won 5-2 and 7-2. Becca Meade recorded a pair of saves Sunday as the Chargers improved to 2-3 in the event.

Georgia Highlands departs Wednesday for Texas where they play University of Texas-Tyler, Colby (TX), Howard (TX), Midland (TX), Coastal Bend (TX), Odessa (TX), and Luna (NM) February 10-14.
