Lady Tigers, Tigers sweep visiting Excel Saturday
ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 43, EXCEL CHRISTIAN 33
The Lady Tigers led at all quarter stops, 12-7, 25-16, and 31-20 on their way to a 10-point win over visiting Excel Christian Academy.
Adairsville had eight players enter the scoring column. Nakiyah Washington led with eight points, followed by Victoria Davis 7, Josie Summerville 7, Zay Harris 6, Taylor Greene 4, Logan O’Neal 3, Emily Collum 3, and Gracie Hudson 2.
Rylie Boston led Excel with 14 points. Whitney Harris and Brighton McCollum scored seven apiece. Anna Lane Hattaway added three and Kalli Beth Scheff scored two for the Lady Eagles.
Adairsville (6-10) has home games next week on Tuesday (Jan. 12) vs. North Murray and Saturday against Cass. Both are 6pm starts.
Excel (7-8) has three home games next week including Tuesday with Gordon Central, Friday against Christian Heritage, and Saturday vs. Walker.
ADAIRSVILLE BOYS 64, EXCEL CHRISTIAN 50
Ronald Hardin and Ethan Belcher scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, as the Tigers defeated visiting Excel Christian Saturday in a non-region matchup.
Juan Perez and Cody Henderson added eight points each for Adairsville. Hunter Hice, Bryce Holland, and James Sims chipped in with six each. Will Rose added two and Cole Hewitt one for the Tigers.
With the victory, Adairsville improved to 5-11 for the year. The Tigers play home games Tuesday and Saturday next week against North Murray and Cass.
Excel falls to 6-9 with the loss. The Eagles host Gordon Central Tuesday (Jan. 12), Christian Heritage Friday (Jan. 15), and Walker on Saturday (Jan. 16).
