Lady Canes win to end slide; Canes drop region game

CARTERSVILLE GIRLS 47, LAFAYETTE 26

The Lady Canes picked up a Region 7AAAA victory Monday night at the Storm Center by defeating visiting LaFayette 47-26. For Cartersville, the win snapped an 11-game losing streak.

Madison McKinney led Cartersville with 15 points. Kimora McClinic scored eight, London Shaw seven, and Chloe Davis six.

The Lady Ramblers loss drops their season mark to 2-18 overall, 0-11 in Region 7AAAA.

With the victory, the Lady Canes improved to 4-15 overall and 2-8 in region play. They play at Gilmer Tuesday.

LAFAYETTE BOYS 61, CARTERSVILLE 51

LaFayette took a seven point lead in the first half and held on to knock off the Canes Monday night at the Storm Center.

Jaylon Pugh and Cade Archer led Cartersville’s scoring with 11 each. Travon Davis scored seven points and added nine rebounds. The Ramblers improved to 10-9 overall and 3-7 in region play.

With the loss, the Canes slipped to 13-6 overall and 9-2 in Region 7AAAA. They travel to Gilmer Tuesday evening.
