Colonels, Canes win at holiday tourneys
CARTERSVILLE BOYS 50, CHEROKEE 45
Jaylon Pugh finished with 18 points as Cartersville moved to 7-1 on the season with a win at the Pickens Holiday Classic in Jasper. A close game throughout, the Canes led 21-19 at halftime. The loss dropped Cherokee to 5-8 on the season. The Pickens tournament continues Tuesday and Wednesday.
CASS BOYS 60, GORDON LEE 51
The Colonels led 29-25 at the intermission and had their lead narrowed to two points after three quarters, but outscored the Trojans 21-13 in the final period to win by nine. It was the opening game of the Lafayette Holiday Tournament for both teams. Cass is now 4-6. Gordon Lee’s record fell to 6-6. The Lafayette Tournament continues Tuesday and Wednesday.
GORDON LEE GIRLS 32, CASS 31
The Lady Colonels lost their opener in the Lafayette Holiday Tournament to Gordon Lee. Cass is now 5-5 on the season. Gordon Lee improved to 7-5. The Lafayette Tournament continues Tuesday and Wednesday.
