Canes rally late to win at Pickens

The Cartersville boys basketball team rallied from an eight-point deficit in the second half to win at Pickens Friday night, 71-66.

The Canes used a 29 point fourth quarter to overcome the Dragons.

Cade Archer led Cartersville with 19 points. Kobie Whitfield followed with 14 points for the Canes. JKobe Orr totaled 12 points and Jaylon Pugh added 10.

Cartersville (3-1) opens play in the North Paulding Better Basketball Christmas Classic Saturday at 1pm against Paulding County. The tournament continues next Monday and Tuesday.

The Pickens girls defeated Cartersville 51-44. The Lady Canes are now 2-4. Pickens improved to 4-5.

The Cartersville girls play East Paulding Saturday at 6pm at the North Paulding Christmas Classic.
